July 4th weekend is upon us, and while it’s usually celebrated with sparklers and fireworks, parents of young children know those aren’t always kid-friendly options. Whether it’s for safety or because your kids are terrified of the loud booms and bangs, there are plenty of ways to celebrate without setting off any fireworks.

Here are some kid-friendly Fourth of July celebration options:

  • Glow Sticks: These are always a hit with kids. They come in a variety of colors and last a long time.
  • Silly String: It’s a little messy, but the kids will love it. Even older kids will join in on the fun.
  • Bubbles: Bubbles are always a fun outdoor activity and there are so many different shapes and sizes you can experiment with.
  • Piñata: Order a piñata and let the kids have at it!
