Ella Langley’s ‘Choosin’ Texas’ Breaks All-Time Billboard Hot 100 Record

Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” has made chart history, becoming the longest-running No. 1 song on the Billboard Hot 100 with its 23rd week at the top. The milestone surpasses Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” which held 22 weeks at No. 1. The song debuted on the chart in November 2025 and first reached No. 1 in February 2026. “It feels surreal,” Langley told Billboard News. “I think this has been the biggest moment for me, where I’ve seen where fans can change your career.” Langley co-wrote the track with Luke Dick, Miranda Lambert, and Joybeth Taylor. Previous record-holders include Shaboozey and Lil Nas X, who each held 19 weeks at the top.
