The smallest and largest planets in the solar system will meet up this weekend, with Mercury and Jupiter set to appear side by side in the sky Friday morning in an astrological event called a conjunction. This type of conjunction isn’t particularly rare, and it’s the second time this year Mercury and Jupiter are converging. To see it, you’ll need to look southeast about an hour before sunrise. If cloudy conditions obscure the sky Friday, people can check out the event Saturday or Sunday morning, as the planets will still be close to each other.
