It was a big night for Luke Combs, Lainey Wilson and Cody Johnson at Wednesday at the CMA Awards.
Luke took home two of the most coveted awards of the night – Entertainer and Album of the Year, while Lainey scored the New Artist win, then collected Female Vocalist of the Year. Cody also earned two CMA awards — his first, for Single and Video of the Year, both for “Til You Can’t.”
Also, Chris Stapleton won Male Vocalist of the Year Award for a sixth time.
One of the biggest surprises of the night may have been when Brothers Osborne took the stage to accept their Vocal Duo trophy and John announced that he and wife Lucie Silvas are expecting twins.
Luke Bryan and Peyton Manning proved to be both hilarious and thoughtful co-hosts, but the evening wasn’t without a little good-natured football ribbing. Peyton, a University of Tennessee alum, introduced a clogger hoofing to “Rocky Top” until Luke, a Georgia Bulldogs fan, shut it down.
